FAQ

Answers to common questions about copy trading, our Masters, risk and settings.

Getting Started

What is Copy Trading?

Copy trading lets you automatically copy the trades of another trader (the "Master") into your own trading account. When the Master opens or closes a position, the same trade is placed in your account in proportion to your settings. Your money always stays in your own account with the broker.

Do I need trading experience?

No trading experience is needed to start copying, because the Master makes the trading decisions. You should still understand the basics: how your copy settings work, how much you are prepared to risk, and that losses are possible.

How do I start following a Master?

Open the Master's page on this website and press Follow This Master. It takes you to the Master's profile on the broker's official copy trading platform, where you log in or register, review the strategy, choose your copy settings and confirm your subscription.

Can I stop copying at any time?

Yes. You can unsubscribe from a Master on the broker's copy trading platform whenever you want. How open positions are handled when you stop (closed straight away or left open) depends on the platform, so check this before you unsubscribe.

Capital & Costs

How much capital do I need?

Each Master has a suggested starting capital. For Trader King it is 10,000 cents (a Cent account) or more. Please check each Master's page for its recommended capital, and only use money you can afford to lose.

Are there any fees for Copy Trading?

CopyTrade MT5 does not take deposits. Any fees, such as a performance fee or subscription fee, are set on the broker's copy trading platform and are shown on the Master's profile there. Normal trading costs (spreads, commissions and swaps) also apply. Please review all costs before subscribing.

Do I need to open an account with the same broker?

Yes. Each Master trades with a specific broker, and you copy through that broker's platform: Trader King uses Interstellar and Crazy Diamond uses Tickmill.

What is the difference between USD and Cent accounts?

In a Cent account the balance is shown in cents (100 cents = 1 USD), so 10,000 cents is about 100 USD. Cent accounts let you trade smaller sizes with less capital. A USD account shows the balance in dollars. Trader King runs on a Cent account and Crazy Diamond on a USD account.

Risk & Performance

Is Copy Trading guaranteed to be profitable?

No. Copy trading does not guarantee profits. Past performance does not guarantee future results, and every Master can have losing periods.

Can I lose all my invested capital?

Yes. Trading Forex and CFDs involves a high level of risk, and you may lose all of the capital you invest. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

What is Maximum Drawdown?

Maximum Drawdown is the largest drop from a peak in the account to a later low point, shown as a percentage. It shows how deep the worst losing period has been so far. A drawdown target, such as Trader King's 15%, is a risk-management goal and not a guaranteed limit.

Why might my results differ from the Master's?

Your results can be different because of your account balance, copy settings, the time you started copying, spreads and commissions, slippage and the broker's execution speed.

Master Strategies

What is the difference between Trader King and Crazy Diamond?

Each Master has its own strategy, broker and account type. Trader King trades XAUUSD (gold) manually with a short-term scalping style on an Interstellar Cent account. Crazy Diamond trades on a Tickmill USD account. Open each Master's page to compare their performance, drawdown and recommended settings.

Are the Master accounts verified on Myfxbook?

Yes. Each Master's performance is tracked on Myfxbook, and every Master page has a See on Myfxbook button so you can check the full record yourself.

How often is performance data updated?

The figures on this website are pulled from Myfxbook automatically about once an hour. Each Master page shows when the data was last updated.

Can I follow more than one Master?

Usually yes, as long as the copy trading platform allows it and your capital is enough for each Master. Following several Masters adds their risks together, so plan your total risk carefully.

Settings & Support

What is AutoScale?

AutoScale is a copy mode that sizes your trades in proportion to your account balance compared with the Master's balance. A smaller account copies smaller trades and a larger account copies larger trades.

What is Ratio Multiplier?

The Ratio Multiplier changes the size of the copied trades. 1.00 copies at the normal size, 0.50 copies at half the size, and 2.00 at double the size. A higher ratio means higher risk. For Trader King we suggest 1.00 or lower.

Can I change my copy trading settings?

Yes. You can change your settings on the broker's copy trading platform. Changes normally apply to new trades only.
